The CRC has combined and integrated the three existing NIH-funded UCSF Clinical Research Centers at Moffitt Hospital, Mt. Zion Hospital, and San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center. To provide new research opportunities, new CRC units have been added at Kaiser Permanente Division of Research and the existing Pediatric Clinical Research Center satellite unit at Children’s Hospital of Oakland Research Institute which has been expanded to include adults. We have added a site at the San Francisco VA Medical Center and a new community research unit has been opened in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco. In the near future we hope to add additional units in the East Bay to expand our community interactions and research efforts in minority and medically underserved populations. The CRC continues to provide an environment that ensures the highest standards of safety and reliability as well as an outstanding venue for the training of students, residents, fellows, and faculty in clinical and translational research involving human participants.
