Caring Wisely 2.0 Seeks Big Ideas to Improve Care, Reduce Costs

Caring Wisely 2.0

Join the effort to improve efficiency and reduce healthcare costs at the UCSF Medical Center and SFGH!

The UCSF Center for Healthcare Value (CHV) is sponsoring awards of up to $50,000 to faculty and staff for collaborative proposals for interventions implementable at either UCSF Health System or San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) that reduce the cost of healthcare without adversely affecting quality, safety, patient experience or clinical care team experience. Teams of experts in implementation science will assist the project team in optimizing the design, implementation and evaluation of the intervention.

What you need to know:

  • Areas for improvement, or “hot spots”, were identified in Phase I. While these “hot spots” already have strong endorsement, proposals can focus on other areas.
  • You can also use the forum to put a call out for collaborators, or to express interest in joining a team.
  • Preference will be given to projects that are collaborative and multidisciplinary, and have the potential to scale beyond UCSF or SFGH.
  • Deadline to submit a proposal is Friday, April 11.
  • From April 12-May 16, you’re invited to review all proposals and offer comments. Proposers can use this feedback to improve their proposal by May 16.
