CTSI is pleased to announce leadership transitions in its Consutation Services (CS) and Clinical and Translational Science Training (CTST) programs:
- Alka Kanaya, MD, will be taking over as director of CTSI’s Consultation Services (CS) program. Dr. Kanaya, who previously served as CS Unit Director of Research Design, replaces Mark Pletcher, MD, MPH, who has led CS over the last several years and helped to shape it into a program with 22 consultation subject areas and a growing team of UCSF faculty and staff consultants.
- The second change relates to the Clinical and Translational Science Training (CTST) program, in which Doug Bauer, MD, will take over as director of the K Scholars Program. Chuck McCulloch, PhD, and Louise Walter, MD, will also serve as new program co-directors. Dr. Bauer is replacing Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, MD, PhD, the new CTST director, who has played a key role in building the K Scholars Program and will remain part of the program faculty.
"These transitions will ensure that these program continue to flourish," said Deborah Grady, MD, MPH, "and in both cases, we're enabling an ideal leadership team to set the future course of these important programs."
