CTSI Announces Recruitment & Implementation (RIC) Core

In an effort to achieve greater efficiency and broaden the reach of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) within the campus community, William “Bill” Balke, MD, director of CTSI’s Clinical Research Services (CRS) program, has announced that the UCSF Participant Recruitment Service (PRS) and the Clinical Research Coordinator Core (CRCC) have been merged into a single business operation.

The resulting Recruitment & Implementation Core (RIC) will continue to offer an array of services to the UCSF research community, including helping investigators overcome recruitment and operational challenges by providing expertise in recruitment planning and execution, regulatory support for CHR and sponsor requirements, and experienced study coordinators.

“Combining these services allows us to capitalize on the synergy between helping researchers to engage study participants and conducting their studies efficiently,” said Nariman Nasser, who has been named senior director of RIC. “This development will only strengthen the quality of CTSI services.”

All RIC services are available to UCSF faculty, staff, students and affiliates on a recharge basis. For more information, visit here (information will continue to be updated) or contact 415-514-8140. Also subscribe to receive RIC updates and follow RIC on Twitter.
