CTSI Recognizes UCSF Faculty as “Consultants of the Year”

50+ UCSF faculty and senior staff provide expert advice through CTSI Consultation Services. The “Consultants of the Year” for 2011 include:
  • John Kornak, PhD, Associate Professor in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, for consistently going beyond what would normally be expected of a consultant. Faculty members stated that John Kornak was “wonderfully responsive” and his help “was key to getting grants funded.”
  • Barbara Grimes, Administrator in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, for taking on some of the most demanding projects. UCSF researchers noted that they appreciated her “professional manner and attention to detail”.
  • Nancy Hills, PhD, Assistant Professor of Neurology, devoted the most hours of any faculty consultant. She was described as “friendly, approachable and well-prepared.”
  • Ketty Mobed, Administrator in Academic Research Services. She was nominated as a consultant who “really cares about moving research forward and assisting colleagues.”
  • Nicolas Sheon, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, was described as “highly trained and knowledgeable”.
Each award comes with $500 that can be spent on academic enrichment such as conference travel expense, software purchases, or other work-related expenses.
